As many of you know, over the years I have become an organizational freak. I dislike clutter…it makes me feel things aren’t finished, so I am constantly looking for ways to keep things organized and neat and tidy. I hate it when things pile up on surfaces, like my kitchen counters. It seems to be the drop off place for everyone’s stuff…and I hate it! Did I mention how much I hate it? But with my son going back to school last week I decided I was going to get that homework paper mess under control before it even began and created a little out of sight paper collecting station for my six-year-old and all his school work so it doesn’t pile up on the counters or desks.
Last year my coffee bar was the collect all for Jaydon’s school work. It was piled on top of this counter and the child hated me throwing anything away! How dare I!?
Now I have a nice bin for the loose papers he brings home from 1st grade and I can put them all in here, then throw things away later, 😉 when my child doesn’t notice. Ha!
In addition to that, sometimes you just need to stick things somewhere and you want to know that its accessible for say kiddos, but you don’t want a permanent hole in the wall. Quick Stick sent me these non-adhesive utility holders and much to my surprise they hold common every day items up to 3 pounds. What makes this different from other stick to the wall holders? Well you can restick them if you decide to move something or you simply don’t like the location of where you originally stuck it.
In my bathroom, I like to keep this plastic bag holder handy for when we are changing the trash can bag or cleaning out the litter box. Having the dispenser right there on the wall within reach helps so much!
I also like to hang a little dust pan for my kids to clean up their messes and a bag holder in my pantry in the kitchen. These quick sticks are lower on the wall so its easy for my kids to put these items away afterward.
But say I don’t like the location of where I stuck it?
I can simply remove it by peeling up the corner, or with a warm wash cloth, rinse the backing off with water, and restick it somewhere else after it dries.
I hate putting unnecessary holes in the walls or using adhesives that will rip paint off the walls. Quick Stick does not use adhesive, it uses micro-suction, which means it won’t peel up paint or ruin anything it sticks to. Who wants to repaint continually? Not I! Quick stick sticks to most smooth surfaces including glass, tile, painted walls, plastic or laminate and each quick stick can hold up to 3 pounds. That’s quite a lot for something that can be removed later. There is a variety of Quick Sticks to choose from. My favorite right now are the blue hooks.
In an effort to figure out where to use the rest of the quick sticks, I realized where we’d benefit from them the most! My husband’s very unorganized work bench! It needs quite a lot of organization and I know he’d love to find something hanging on a wall and know that’s where it goes when he’s done with it.
