What’s New With Me?!

Well to answer your questions becuase I know you are dying to know…LOTS!

 

Lets see, you may have noticed the lack of “personal” posts lately, mainly because I’ve actively decided to spend less time blogging because I actually feel like it will make me a better blogger. I’ve gotten off my lazy ass and started working out with a mom group friend of mine at our local gym. We drop our youngins off at Kids Corner and Rachel and I spend about two hours working it til we feel like we are going to drop. Usually the morning of our work outs, a couple of times a week, I’m dreading going, I know how hard its gonna be…and half way through it, I’m dying and I want it to be over…but after a good work out, I feel tired, but energized….I feel my body performing better.

I’m not trying to drop any pounds, I’m trying to build muscle and stamina and maybe get rid of a little belly pooch and tone the butt a little. We are about one month in and I’m feeling great.

We start off with doing 30 minutes on the elliptical machines, then we do some weights. I like to tone the glutes, quads, muscles in my chest and arms, and then we do some exercises I learned how to do in dance class. We work out our abs with scissor kicks, crunches and planking.

After all that, we run a mile on the gym’s track. 15 laps is equivalent to 1 mile and for me, having not been the best runner, LIKE EVER, we are started off fast paced walking one lap and running two until we get to 15 laps. Hopefully one day real soon we’ll be able to change it up and run three walk 1 until we are able to run all 15 laps because I’d love to be able to build up the stamina I need to run a 5k.  

In addition to spending more time working on myself. I got a haircut! If you can remember the last major change I had done to my hair, was a perm. I loved my perm. I loved the body it gave my limp hair that barretts would slide right out of because it’s very thin. Its like kids hair…my barber/brother-in-law says my hair is super healthy, not course or overly processed, I have a lot of it, but it’s just kinda thin and has no body, however it can hold a curl all day without hairspray…so I never really use a lot of product in it.  Since the perm had kind of run its course, my next action was to straighten it and get bangs and the bangs would add more style to my hair.

So far I’m liking it! I like having bangs, I feel like I can do a lot more up, down, or half up half down doos with it.

    Love the bangs! I miss mine. My hair was so damaged by horrible water in my last apartment that I let them grow out. Once it’s back to normal I will get them again.

    I like the bangs a lot. They look really good. And great job on getting to the gym. I think having a friend along with you helps you be more accountable.

    The bangs look great! When my wife decided to get bangs, she was really unsure, but has kept them since.

    Looks like you’ve been busy! It is always great to take a little break and do something for yourself! The bangs look great! It definitely gives you more styling options.

    It’s great your taking time for yourself! Your new haircut looks really nice! I have a love hate relationship with bangs. They seem like a nice idea and then I get them and just want them out of my face, lol.

    The bangs are definitely cute. I have thin hair too, that barrettes slide right out of…it can be very challenging to find new styles. You’re lucky yours holds a curl so nicely, mine def. does not!
